VIDEO: Obama sings amazing grace to end moving eulogy
President Barack Obama is a good speaker. This is well-kown. What many did not know until Saturday was that he could sing. He sang the hymn “Amazing Grace” to end his eulogy in a captivating way.
“This whole week I’ve reflected on grace,” President Obama said at the beginning of his speech at the funeral of Reverend Clementa Pinckney in Charleston, South Carolina. “The Amazing Grace.”
Grace was the subject at the core of the eulogy, which earned from some observers Obama’s newest title: minister-in-chief.
When he sang the first line, the room shook with laughter. Then the congregation realized he was going to continue. And they sang along.
