“It’s Unfortunate Hanna Tetteh is being personal” – George Andah
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region, Nenyi George Andah, says it is unfortunate that his contender for the seat is being personal about his contest.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hanna Tetteh, is the incumbent MP for Awutu Senya West and if she is not replaced by the party’s delegates for the 2016 election, she will face George Andah in what will be one of the most intriguing parliamentary contests in the elections.
But it seems the battle has already begun, sooner than expected. Hanna Tetteh is reported to have said on Starr FM that she would teach George Andah a political lesson. But George Andah, the accomplished marketer and founding member of OccupyGhana, says it is unfortunate Hanna Tetteh is taking it personal.
Mr. Andah believes if there “is any lesson to be taught either of us, it will be by the discerning and good people of Awutu Senya West, whom I have every bit of confidence will be directed by God, their current state of livelihood, and their conscience to vote for change and for leadership that will fix the economy, tackle corruption boldly, leadership that performs and moves beyond making promises.”
Below is the full response George Andah posted on his Facebook page:
I read an article on Starr FM online, that Hon Hannah Tetteh, Foreign Minister and NDC MP for Awutu Senya West is reported to have said she would teach me a political lesson.
I wish to state among other things that I put myself up to serve the good people of the Awutu Senya West Constituency on the ticket of the NPP under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia because I share in the same belief that many discerning youth in Ghana have, that the quality of leadership we are experiencing in Ghana is not what Ghana deserves, and therefore sitting on the fence is no longer an option.
I, Nenyi George Andah only want to also serve and contribute my part to touching and uplifting the livelihood of the good people in the Awutu Senya West constituency.
Whilst I may respect her, for her personal achievements as someone coming from the same constituency as I do, I just want to do things differently for the Awutu Senya West constituency under the NPP and it is indeed most unfortunate that she is being personal.
My team in Awutu Senya West and I are taking nothing for granted, we will continue to work diligently and we have already earned the trust of the good people of the Awutu Senya West constituency irrespective of political party computation.
Indeed if there is any lesson to be taught either of us, it will be by the discerning and good people of Awutu Senya West, whom I have every bit of confidence will be directed by God, their current state of livelihood, and their conscience to vote for change and for leadership that will fix the economy, tackle corruption boldly, leadership that performs and moves beyond making promises. Awutu Senya West is yearning for leadership that listens to them and treats them with the respect and recognition they so much deserve.
We all know Ghana and Awutu Senya West needs leadership that will bring about positive change. Whilst we all try everyday to “Live pure” we all know that Ghana and Awutu Senya West wants leadership that will “Speak true and right wrong”.
If the cries and vibes we are hearing on the ground is anything to go by, then come 2016, Awutu Senya West will vote for the NPP’s Flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo as the President and Nenyi George Andah as the MP.
Sincerely,
Nenyi George Andah.
